Abinbev Bavaria Selects Allison 3500 RDS Fully Automatic Transmissions for its Beverage Delivery Trucks
BOGOTÁ, Colombia, January 2021 - Thanks to their superior performance and unmatched reliability on any terrain, Allison Transmission’s 3500 Rugged Duty Series™ (RDS) fully automatic transmissions have been chosen by
Abinbev Bavaria for their new beverage delivery trucks.
Abinbev Bavaria, part of Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest brewery and one of the most influential beverage customers in South America, acquired 20 Navistar MV607 trucks equipped with Allison Transmission’s 3500RDS. Abinbev purchased these
trucks equipped with Allison Automatics to analyze and evaluate new technologies and market trends for Colombian topography. These are the first automatic units in the Abinbev fleet that currently has more than 1,100 truck units with manual transmissions.
Allison fully automatic transmissions offer unique durability and reliability, built to the highest quality standards, and operating in tight shift schedules. Due to Allison Transmission's patented torque converter technology, which requires a minimum
level of maintenance with oil and filter changes only and reduced wear when compared to other transmission technologies that feature a clutch. This reduces maintenance and repair costs and increases the time the fleet spends on the road.
Allison's patented torque converter is a premium starting mechanism, giving drivers more control at low speeds. Even if trucks are on a slope, navigating narrow streets in town or approaching loading / unloading ramps, Allison automatic transmissions
offer a level of responsiveness that manual or automated manual gearboxes cannot achieve.
